A Lifetime Dedicated to Understanding the Human Experience

Mitch Maiman offers readers a rare literary perspective—one shaped by an extraordinary career in medicine, a profound curiosity about human nature, and a passion for emotionally authentic storytelling.

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Mitch became a physician at just twenty-four years old. He went on to build a distinguished academic, clinical, and research career in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with subspecialty expertise in Gynecologic Oncology.

Throughout his career, he served as Director of Gynecologic Oncology and Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at major New York City university hospitals, earning recognition for his commitment to education and the training of residents and fellows.

Today, as a retired physician and novelist, Mitch draws on that remarkable perspective to create fiction with striking authenticity and emotional depth.

FROM MEDICINE TO LITERARY FICTION

His debut novel, Every Third Night, offers an emotionally intense and realistic portrayal of young physicians navigating the unforgiving demands of medical residency in 1984.

His second novel, The Rainbow Diary, explores mortality, reconciliation, and the mystery of what may lie beyond death.

His newest novel, Interludes in the Park, moves into the emotional and spiritual dimensions of heartbreak, healing, destiny, and transformation.
